The Riding Program at Darby Downs Equestrian Center is focused on educating and assisting clients in meeting their goals. 

 

Lessons are private 45-minute sessions. 

 

School horses are available for use and lessons are available for beginner through intermediate-advanced

students adults as well as children.  Haul-in students are also welcome. 

 

 

Riders in our weekly lesson program participate in preparing the horse for riding by grooming, saddling

and warming up; as well as cooling out their horse.  (If not knowledgeable in this area, students will

be taught these skills upon entering the program).  Students are required to arrive at least 1/2 hour in

advance of their lesson to complete the tasks listed above. 

 

                                                                        Other activities available for student participation include:

                                                                       

                                                                        Clinics with Grand Prix riders and USDF Judges; Specialized Day Camps; Group and

                                                                        Semi-Private Riding Sessions; Trail Riding; Social Gatherings (i.e., summer bonfire

                                                                        events, & holiday parties);

                                                                        Educational Classes with time devoted to Specialized Areas of Concentration & more.... 

 

   

Darby Downs Also Offers Practice Rides and Leasing Options at a discounted rate to those in our weekly lesson program;

                                                           

    Showing at local hunter/jumper, combined training and dressage venues,

    as well as at United States Equestrian Federation (USEF)

    Recognized Events;

 

    We Can Also Provide Consultations and Assistance with selection/purchase of horse;
