
Intermediate-Advanced Lessons in the disciplines of dressage, hunter-jumper, combined training and low level
eventing are conducted by Darby Downs' owner, Karen Pikovsky.
With 25+ years riding experience & 15 years as a Certified Instructor, Karen is a Nationally Recognized instructor
with numerous awards.
Karen prioritizes her continuing education, holding her Diploma from the United States Dressage Federation (USDF)
University Program, her certification through the Certified Horsemanship Association and working with top
instructors/trainers in the world.
Lessons are scheduled Mondays through Thursdays with both morning and afternoon/evening lessons available.
Current openings available in the intermediate-advanced lesson schedule are:
Mondays 10:45am and 7:15pm - Wednesdays 10:45am - Thursdays 4:15pm
The cost of these lessons is $45 for a private 45-minute session. Students entering the Darby Downs program are
required to commit to 4 lessons per month. If a lesson is cancelled, there are no refunds. However, the student
has one month's time to reschedule a makeup lesson before the lesson is forfeited. If a lesson is cancelled by
Darby Downs, the rates are adjusted accordingly.
Students must arrive at least 1/2 hour in advance of their lesson to catch/groom/saddle/warm-up their horse.
Additional services available to students in the intermediate-advanced lesson program include:
Participation in group and semi-private riding sessions;
Horsemanship classes; stable events and programs, etc.;
Practice rides and leasing options;
Participation or auditing of weekly summer/fall lessons with
Grand Prix Dressage Rider & L Judge, Dana Fiore.
As well as Monthly Dressage and Jumping Clinics with
United States Dressage Federation (USDF) R Judge, Nicky Vogel.
Showing at Local hunter/jumper, combined training and mini-trial venues,

as well as at United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Recognized Events;
Consultation and assistance with selection/purchase of horse;
